Water hydrates nails also despite of skin and hair. Drink lots of water to get rid of dry nails.
Apply moisturizer or petroleum jelly onto your nails. If your dry nails are persistent, apply a moisturizer to your nails and wear cotton gloves while sleeping. Avoid excessive use of nail polish removers.
Soaking your nails in oil such as olive oil for about 10 minutes is effective in treating dry nails
Harsh chemicals and detergents can make your nails dry. Use gloves to protect your nails from chemicals especially while doing chores, washing dishes etc.
Eat a diet rich in calcium, zinc, and vitamin B to keep your nails healthy. Dry nails can also be an indication of health condition such as thyroid problem.
